Mt. Ida

August 28 - Mt. Ida -  9.5 miles - 2362 feet elevation gain

This was another great one.  You get to do a lot of walking across Tundra and Mt. Ida has some of the best summit views.  Mt. Ida's summit is at 12,800 ft.    Dad, Melissa, Laura, Trent, and Miranda got to enjoy this one.  Our final for the trip was outstanding.

We start off from Milner Pass

When we seen this sign I explained to the kids that we did not have to worry.  The reason is this;  Tundra is a Lapp word.  Thru Grandma Katie's mother's family we also are Lapps.  So we should have no trouble navigating on Tundra as our ancestors have done so for centuries.  This turned out to be true, we had no issues at all.

Another Mt. Ida summit view.
And so our vacation came to a close.  A lot of fun and a lot of memories with loved ones.  Very fortunate indeed.
